Aleo Setup
To ensure the security of zkSNARKs, Aleo has developed a setup process designed to protect against attacks and ensure the integrity of the protocols. The Aleo setup process is a multi-party computation (MPC) protocol involving trusted parties collaborating to generate the initial parameters for the zkSNARKs.

Challenge: The Setup Ceremony had three parts or sections from which end-users could participate. Universal, Outer, and the Inner Setup. Universal and Outer were done by the command line, so more technical end-users did it. Inner Setup, on the other hand, was done through the web/browser - not so technical end-users, and the question was 'HOW' do we make the best experience for non-technical users to participate? Solution: A step-by-step process with hints of what follows and the meaning of each action that users might take so that it would be apparent to end-users and easy to finish the process. Result: Two thousand two hundred thirty-eight people participated - the most participated Setup Ceremony in the Crypto world ever.

Aleo has a community forum where users can ask questions and tell us about issues they face while using our product. The highly requested features or areas that need updating are based on user comments and research. Using this and feedback from our surveys, we took into account the problem areas they've encountered, giving us valuable information on aspects that need to be added/fixed. The flow chart is based on the needs. Focusing on main actions allows users to clear decision paths and guide them toward their goals. A staging link was used to test all the requests and observe how users behave to reach their goals. The results gave me a clear idea of what the final product would feel and look like. It was impossible to contribute to the Setup via mobile & tablet due to those devices not having the power to do so. But we decided that the ‘front-end’ part should be shown to the end-users so they can see ‘setup stats,’ ‘setup monitor,’ read the FAQ, and the blog, and register to participate later.
